Anyone disappointed that Pete Yorn's stint as the opening act for Coldplay ends June 4--two days before the band hits the Sommet Center with Snow Patrol in tow--can take solace in the news announced today that Yorn will come to Nashville and headline The Cannery Ballroom on July 16. Yorn will be touring behind his latest album Back and Fourth, due out June 23, and with the services of a new band: Joey Kennedy on keys, Scott Seiver on drums and Jonny Polonsky, Mark Noseworthy and Zak Schaffer on guitar.

Yorn's also been in the news for his new collaboration with Scarlett Johannson, Break Up. The first single's called "Realtor," and you can stream it on the album site. I don't really understand why people are calling this a "Serge Gainsbourg/Brigitte Bardot-style duets record," other than for the obvious reason, which isn't a very good one. At any rate, this record has nothing to do with the Pete Yorn show at the Cannery, unless we hear otherwise. Tickets to that are $22 in advance, $25 day of, and you can buy them here. Tour dates after the jump.

you got your openers mixed up. Snow Patrol is opening for Coldplay, Kaiser Cheifs are opening for Green Day.

i heard some of that Scar-Jo record on this blog the other day.
the aforementioned blogger didn't think much of it. I think it warrants a She & Him comparison more accurately than the Gainsbourg/Bardot one.

@oshoney: Oh, right. My cold/snow mnemonic didn't work, apparently. Corrected.

more like a cash in than a comparison.
I like actresses that stick to acting.
