Cream Calendar / Creamtastic Screaming Females to Support The Dead Weather

When I saw Raconteurs/Dead Weather bass man "Little" Jack Lawrence at the (awesome) Screaming Females/JEFF the Brotherhood/Heavy Cream show the other week, I remember wondering to myself which band he was there to see, and deciding it was probably Screaming Females. Just call it a hunch. Whether I was right or wrong, it would make sense in light of the news today that The Dead Weather are taking Screaming Females with them on the July leg of their U.S. tour (dates after the jump). Someone in the S.F. camp (not a band member) raised the idea of a guitar "shred-off" between Marissa Paternoster and Jack White, which could be fun given that even though Paternoster's probably giving up three feet and 150 pounds to J.W., she'd definitely hold her own, if not take whatever crown they were hanging up from the heavens that night. But wank-fest or no (I'm still gonna lean toward no on that one), it'll be cool to see Screaming Females take on War Memorial. They've certainly got the firepower to fill that kind of space. Check it. FWIW, I also saw Jack Lawrence at the Dexateens/Red White Blue/Modern Station show at the Basement on Sunday.
Not sure who he was checking out.
He got there during the Modern Station set (I think) and stayed for the Dexateens.

I second that...congrats to the screaming females! jack white could learn a few things from marissa (sp?)paternoster. BUT...has anyone here even listened to Dead Weather? everyone on this blog seems to think they're great b/c Jack White is in the band. But have you really listened? It's very mediocre stuff with jack white's mediocre drumming. If people can get over their starstruck attitudes ("ooohhh, I saw Little Jack at blah, blah, blah"), they wouldn't blindly support this stuff. Moreover, if the Cream is dying to get in good with Jack White/Third Man records/whatever, being startstruck sycophants isn't going to do it. You guys act like a bunch of twenty year olds who've spied a cast member of Gossip Girl and can't contain yourselves.
Oh, wait, you are twenty-somethings who probably DO watch Gossip Girl. well, keep on gossiping, as that's how all this blog's writing comes off, and it's sure to land you a seat at Jack White's table...

I didn't know what Gossip Girl was until a Hotpipes song was on the show.
And you're wrong about the twentysomethings. Aside from me, this blog is mostly old folks.
