* The other night I had this funny dream, where I was walking outside the Green Hills mall and ran into
Taylor Swift. In this dream, we were pals. Not call-each-other-late-at-night-and-gossip pals or anything. She was like, "Hey, nice to see you!" And I was all, "Yo, what's shakin', Tay?" And we kind of small talked for a bit. She was wearing big clunky glasses--the kind they put on "hot" girls in movies to make them look "nerdy" so then we are "surprised" when they take them off and become conventionally "hot" and therefore acceptable booty for our male hero to bed--but soon someone recognized her, and then there was this big crowd and it was kind of embarrassing, so I wound up sitting in some sort of tour village they had set up to shield her from the seething masses, and finally she was just like, "Eh, sorry about that. I guess I'll run into you some other time?" and went off to sign autographs. Anyway, Swift played L.A.'s Staples Center the other night and decided to test my fandom by
singing a duet with John Mayer. And here I thought we were buds. (

SPIN managed to get The Dead Weather to talk about themselves, and Jack White didn't know what to say for a minute: " 'It's a climax...of the last few years, of
everything, it means so much
more, um, I dunno,' he says, his words running together. 'I don't know whether to cry or laugh out loud when I think about it.' " (

* Lilith Fair strikes again: According to
Grimey's, today's Butterfly Boucher in-store performance has been canceled. "Sorry, but Butterfly has had to cancel her instore, scheduled for Tuesday, May 26. She was offered the opportunity to play bass on Sarah McLachlan's tour. We'll still have her new album,
Scary Fragile, for release on the 26th and Butterfly has promised to reschedule her instore when her schedule permits. Stay tuned."
