Times Are Tough All Over: Young Buck Would Really, Really Like to Be on Your Record Label

Posted by Sean Maloney on Wed, May 20, 2009 at 11:00 AM

It's been about a year since local rapper Young Buck got in a tiff with bandmate/label boss 50 Cent, and it looks like things might not be going so well. Sure, G-Unit's last album tanked and Fiddy's next album has been pushed back repeatedly, so Buck's not the only one in dire straights, but his new track "Letter to the Labels" seems sorta desperate.

I love a well-rapped list and there's some pretty clever label references, but when Buck screams "Universal come to my rehearsal" he sounds like some distraught Belmont kid that's just discovered that they don't hand out record deals when you enter the city limits. It's so sad to hear a grown man beg, especially when you perceive that grown man as being particularly badass.

Buck, if you're reading this, I'd put out your record any day. Not that it helps, 'cuz I'm one broke-ass motherfucker, but I can probably put in a good word with Hartley. Maybe you can collab with Shoot the Mountain.
