* If you can make a video that proves just how gosh durn country you are, you just might win four-day passes and hotel accommodations for two for this year's CMA Fest. Details here.

* Two-time winner Carrie Underwood is one of many celebrities (and people I've never heard of) up for 2009's Sexiest Vegetarian Alive contest. (Most ironic nominee: Kevin Bacon. Honorable mention: Neil Hamburger.)

* Tommie Sunshine comes to 12th and Porter this Friday as part of Noise Fridays. You may remember Mr. Sunshine's remix of "Give Peace a Chance," since it was a No. 1 hit and all. Justin Kase and Madrid will get things warm.

* Liam Finn will be the opener when Eddie Vedder plays The Ryman June 17 and 18. (Tickets for the June 17 show are still available.)

Seems like they didn't "Nominate" anyone so much as just name every vegetarian they could think of.

I thought Carrie looked best in her Hershey Bar commercial a few years ago. When I met her at a Grammy party, she looked WAY too thin, it made her head look big, and she was not so healthy looking. Eat a cheeseburger, Carrie. You looked much hotter with some meat on them bones!
