Whatevs The Dead Weather, Anvil on Kimmel & More: Newsy Bits

* Tickets on sale today right now for the big Dead Weather show at War Memorial July 30. Not that you've seen a banner ad anywhere recently mentioning that fact. (Ticketmaster.)
* Brooklyn's Au Revoir Simone come to Nashville to play The End on June 1.
* You may have already heard that Paste magazine needs you in order to stay alive. Idolator's down with that, sort of, although maybe not really.
* New Hotpipes website is up. (Yewknee.)
* I interviewed Anvil drummer Robb Reiner yesterday, right before the band took off to their appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! I happen to think Kimmel is about as funny as his ex, but he had Anvil on his show, so points for that. Points off ABC, whose website told me that if I could view the test video then I was ready to go, when, in fact, I still cannot watch the episode. If you have better luck, let me know if it's cool. Tickets for "The Anvil Experience" (as Robb calls it) at the Belcourt are on sale, you know.
