Neko Case comes to Nashville to play the Ryman Auditorium Saturday, July 25.

You may know Case as a member of the New Pornographers, but at this point it's probably a better idea to get to know her as Neko Case, professional badass. Her new album is Middle Cyclone, out on Anti-, and pretty much everyone loves it, except maybe Gold. Here's the first single for that album, which was given away as part of a promotion to raise money for the Best Friends Animal Society.

The coda just makes the song, doesn't it? If you like, go grab the title track over at MBV. Good stuff. Meanwhile, tickets to the show (no word yet on support) will be $25-32.50 and will go on sale Friday, May 22 at 10 a.m.

I guess she's changed her tune, so to speak, from when she was onstage @ the full-house Slow Bar complaining that she'd have to tell her manager to never book another Nashville show.
She's excellent, though.

I believe Magic Wands are opening this show, FYI.

Do tickets come with a drool guard? My hipster nerve twitched when I found out this record is for sale at Starbucks, but the fact that it's a killer record threw into relief how irrelevant that is. Wonder if any of the guest artists will be in the touring band?
