Here's the video for "Watusii," the first single off Cortney Tidwell's new one, Boys. Hold on to your head, because I feel like I just stumbled off a Tilt-a-Whirl or something--though I mean that in the best possible way. I'm not sure what's cooler, the human letter-making dance crew, or Tidwell's giant drum kit. Either way, pretty damn mesmerizing. Directed by Daniel Franke and Martin Maier.

You should watch it on Yooouuutuuube. That shit's intense.
Dang, mah noggin twitches. Cool! For some reason the letter people remind me more of Bananas in Pajamas than Sesame Street.
Is the song name a 'Wedding Present' reference?
Very strong Bjork influence on this one. Which is weird because this song is great, but most Bjork is crap.
Is it a "strong influence" or just a ripoff?Just saying...
Bjork sucks, but she sings that way because of her ethnicity. This is obviously an imitation of Bjork simply because of that fact. People from Nashville don't sing with that type of dialect. Sucks because I actually liked this artist before she started trying to imitate Bjork.
she sounds absolutely nothing like bjork. many qtips needed, try reading less pitchfork as well.....maybe you can trust your own ears from this day forward......it would do some good for the Nashville community
many thanks broheim....
Stumbled upon this thread looking for more info about Cortney Tidwell. Rather wondering what the health system is like in Nashville, because there seem to be some people there with hearing problems. Flabber claiming that Bjork sings the way she does because of her ethnicity? No, she sings like that because of the shape of her vocal chords. Quite apart from the fact that Cortney Tidwell sounds next to nothing like Bjork - a cadence here, a melodic tic there at most - it's quite clear that the woman operates in a world (and class) of her own. Take a cheap and lazy shot if you like, Flabber, and then see if your health insurance covers getting you ears unwaxed. I'm meanwhile gonna see if I can find something sensible written by someone with at least some brains between the wax.
