Rockabilly road warrior Dex Romweber--you might know him from The Flat Duo Jets...then again, you might not--has just announced that he'll be releasing a 7-inch in late May on Jack White's Third Man Records. The split was engineered by Vance Powell, and White himself contributed bass, vocals, saw and acoustic and lead guitars on the two tracks. From the press release:

The release will be part of Third Man's iconic, vinyl-only "Blue Series," all Blue Series releases feature a photo of the artist on a blue cover without text. Side A features Dex's "The Wind Did Move" with White on vocals, bass, and saw. For the flip side, Jack chose "Last Kind Word Blues," a standard written by blues-legend Geeshie Wiley and first recorded in 1930.

Blue. Awesome. So Jack White keeps joining bands in a sideman type of role, eh? Maybe he'd be interested in playing vibraphone or saw or jaw-harp for one of my projects...or at least hovering creepily behind me in publicity photos. The Dex Romweber Duo's national tour with Detroit Cobras kicks off today, and they'll be playing The End on June 4.

When you're done with him, D. Pats, I've got some side projects around the house he could help out with, if he's interested. Dude looks like he could carry stuff to the garage pretty easily.

The image, which will be the album cover for the 7-inch, was included in the press release they sent us. People send us press releases, y'know.
