This nugget is fairly recent. It's a video of former Ramones drummer Tommy Erdelyi, better known as Tommy Ramone, or--given the rapid succession deaths of Joey, Dee Dee and Johnny--the lone Ramone, playing acoustic renditions of "I Wanna be Your Boyfriend" and "Blitzkrieg Bop" at the recent Tin Pan South festival. After watching this video, I'm seriously kicking myself for not having gone to this.
Tommy left the band after the release of Rocket to Russia but maintained an integral role as the band's producer on 1978's Road to Ruin. I'm sure most of you already know this. For those of you that don't, check out Jim Fields and Michael Gramaglia's excellent 2004 rock-doc End of the Century: The Story of The Ramones. In addition to his tenure with punk's star-crossed forebears Erdelyi produced The Replacements' Tim, one of my absolute favorite records of all time.
