YouTube Mosaic Video + Kyle Andrews

Posted by Steve Haruch on Tue, Apr 21, 2009 at 9:42 AM

Yo dawg, I heard you like YouTube videos, so I put a bunch of YouTube videos in...oh, nevermind. Anyway, look at this here new video for the Kyle Andrews song "Sushi." It's made of stills from YouTube videos--1.4 million of 'em, according to the film's director, Dennis Liu (or whoever wrote the description). The video is "interactive and clickable," meaning that you can interrupt it at any time to watch a different video, presumably one of the ones used in the mosaic. The two times I clicked I got a pitbull fight and a video that is "no longer available due to a copyright claim by WMG." Suckers. (HT: Out the Other.)

If you're into the whole YouTube Is the New Reality thing, then check out Josh Pohlein's Modern History project, which is a collection of (non-moving) YouTube collages. And don't forget Kutiman!
