I can honestly say I'm more excited about seeing Santigold tonight at Rites of Spring than I've been about any other show this year. (Sorry, JEFF.) I'm going to check out the merch table, and if there's a shirt that makes it look like you've just barfed gold all over yourself, I might buy it.
I also happen to love the web series Breakfast at Sulimay's, even if Ann--currently my favorite music critic--summed up Santi's song "L.E.S. Artistes" by saying, "That sucked." Well, Ann, I disagree, but that's partly why I admire you. You tell it straight. If you've never watched the show before, it's three people sitting in a Philadelphia restaurant talking about today's freshest new tracks. Sometimes the best ideas are the simplest ones, as they say in the parlance of our times.
I wish I could hear what the Sulimay's crew has to say about Kings of Leon's "Crawl," but, wouldn't you know it, "This video contains an audio track that has not been authorized by WMG. The audio has been disabled." Well, all I can say is that the Young Jeezy/Animal Collective episode is classic, so just watch that instead.
