So local art publication the (rabbit) occasionally throws release parties featuring "film, fashion, music and a great art exhibit." They're throwing just such a soiree on May 1, and locals Caitlin Rose and The Deep Vibration are slated to play. As is the case with so many artsy endeavors, this thing is shrouded in all sorts of mystery, but best I can tell the shindig will be transpiring at a place called Dirty Eye Warehouse.

Certainly sounds like a fun time. But here's the Hot Goss part: According to an inside source, "Dr. Dog is playing the rabbit art party on May 1. Well, I was just told they are by one of the promoters." Dr. Dog's site has no shows listed between April 29 and July 2, and I haven't heard back from the (rabbit) people yet. But we shall keep our ears to the ground and report back with any news we uncover.

Update:

According to our source, Dr. Dog backed out due to a "lack of funds." Bummer. But there is a consolation prize: If you still don't have it, you can purchase the Dog's latest album Fate right here for only $1.99. Pretty sweet, right? Also, while we're on the subject of rabbits and music, Rhino Records have just announced that they'll be releasing a new Eddie Rabbitt "No. 1 Hits" album on May 12. Everybody wins.
