If you want KISS to lick it up on home turf, all you have to do is go to this site and say so. It's the "first-ever fan-routed tour!" announced the band today hot off a sold-out tour of South American soccer stadiums.
Cool idea or bullshit marketing ploy?
Well, ostensibly if you like KISS and you want them to play Boise, then you get to see KISS in Boise. (Assuming you think KISS is still KISS without Peter Criss and Ace Frehley.*)
Also, the band comes off like a bunch of regular, down-to-earth dudes who really appreciate their fans and just want to give back.
And it's all so democratic: All it takes is a whole bunch of other people like you in your city who also want to rock 'n' roll all night, and voila. Uh, that is, "subject to the winning city's ability (i) to provide and pay for Artist's requirements including, without limitation, payment of performance fee based on Artist market value, which value must be negotiated with local promoter and Artist agent, (ii) Artist's production requirements, as provided in Artist's rider, to be issued to the local promoter under separate cover as part of Artist's performance agreement. In the event that any particular top winning city does not have a venue deemed suitable by the Artist, Artist management, or Artist agent, an alternate city within close proximity to such winning city with an acceptable venue will be selected to host the performance."
*The video above is for the Simmons'-penned song "Deuce," supposedly Frehley's favorite KISS song.
