The Road to Bonnaroo Starts With The Features...by One Vote!?!

Posted by D Patrick Rodgers on Tue, Mar 24, 2009 at 12:07 PM

So the results are in, and allegedly it was a tight one. Over at Mercy Lounge's site, the results of fan and judge voting have been posted, and The Features edged out KinderCastle to land a spot at Bonnaroo by a single, solitary vote. So to that one KinderCastle fan who wanted to go but decided to stay home and watch Heroes instead: Yes, you should feel guilty. Not smart.

Above you'll see an excerpt of The Features' ass-stomping set brought to us by YouTube user and ubiquitous band-filmer lovelikeadrug. Thanks as always to her. The next Bonnaroo 8 off 8th is April 20, and the third and final is May 18. You can see last night's official results after the jump.

OH MY GOD. who's running this fmb archive? i think we need to get married.
and i guess i should get a new youtube photo. i'm tired of people asking me, "are you the guy on youtube with the mohawk who's having a conniption fit?"

Yeah, I wouldn't marry someone prone to conniption fits... or with a mohawk... or a guy.

I'd love to know how many votes there were since you had to get there before anyone started and stay til everyone was done.

@Hearn:
i'm curious too. There weren't many audience members at 9PM and they weren't giving ballots to band members. Once Modoc took the stage the place emptied, so that doesn't leave many legal ballots, right?
Congrats to The Features!

Only about a third of the audience received ballots. Pays to show up early sometimes. You know how in this country only half of the people vote in a Presidential election? It's kinda like that.

i got there just before lylas went on [9.30ish?] and was told that i was the last to receive a ballot. who knows. i did definitely stay until the end, and i will agree that all eight bands gave top-notch performances. i think it's time to start placing bets on next month's contestants!
for what it's worth, archivist, i grew out my mohawk and i don't really have conniption fits. do you still love me?
