The word from Byrd is that Ultimo & Disco are taking over 12th & Porter to bring our fair city an awesome electronic dance all summer. A-trak (!), Diplo(!!) and Little Boots(!!!) are booked, not to mention Chromeo, Cut Copy and a bunch of other people. Hot time, summer in the city! D-Paul's remix of How I Became the Bomb's "A Formal Occasion" rules. Yes, I know D-Pat Rockya noted it earlier, but it's worth mentioning again. It has a strong Moroder/Cerrone Italo-disco feel that fits perfectly with the Bomb's taste in late-'70s softcore splatter films. You can find it on the band's MySpace. Also on their MySpace? An advertisement for the laugh-a-minute social networking site GothScene.com--if you're looking for a good laugh at the expense of sad, sad people, GothScene is your best bet. It's like eHarmony meets the Cradle of Filth fan club. Justin Kase posted the 13-part "History of House Music" video on Blogging Is Serious Business. Reccomended if you've ever wondered why I'm always talking about "jack" this and "jack" that. Moog announced the Etherwave Plus, a new controller-Theremin combo electronic doohickey, so that flailing your arms will make your gizmos all go squiggly-squiggly-squiggly at the same time. I hope this means that we'll see Character reform as an improv drum 'n bass ensemble. Felix Cartal is playing at 12th & Porter with Kase on Friday. The Canadian DJ/producer throws down some ill beats and I'm a jackass for forgetting about the show until right now. Oh, and this thread RULZ.
