It seems The Privates have been some busy young men as of late. Perhaps it has something to do with Keith Lowen having a bit more spare time on his hands? First it was their bitchin' Lake Fever Session, and now they're gearing up to release an EP with Theory 8. The five-song EP is called Motion, and the release is scheduled for April 3 at The Basement.

Here's the intriguing bit: In the coming weeks, the guys will be playing what Theory 8's Aaron Hartley refers to as "a new type of Privates show where they back a local Nashville solo artist and then perform a set directly after." Singer-songwriters take note: Ultra-competent backing band now available for gigs. The first of these shows will be with the lovely folk-pop songstress Tristen at The 5 Spot Feb. 28. No word on other artists they plan on backing. Oh, and for you 'Drag-heads: The Privates will also be opening Superdrag's Industry Giants album release at Exit/In March 14.
