So the NBN crew has organized a showcase slated for March 19 at Austin's Maggie Mae's Gibson Room. You might recall us bringing you word of Landon Pigg's and Turbo Fruits' appearances in the forthcoming Ellen Page-Drew Barrymore vehicle Whip It!, a tale of love, rock and roller derbies set in Austin of all places. The South by Southwest bill is the first appearance Pigg and the Fruits will make together since shooting said film. Oh, and by the way, Pigg plays Page's love interest. Score. The film should be out later this year.
Back to the matter at hand. In an email to the Cream, NBN bigwig Jason Moon Wilkins expressed a bit of disappointment that popular local artists like "How I Became the Bomb, The Protomen, David Vandervelde, The Champion and His Burning Flame and JEFF the Brotherhood" weren't able to make it to Austin, but there are some noteworthy bands on his showcase. We'll bring you news of any additions that may be made to the bill. Here's the lineup:

Aren't The Bomb playing the American Songwriter showcase?
NBN needs to be put And The Relatives on the bill - just sayin...
SXSW is a mindwarp so its understandable this got a little confusing.
Clarification:
Yes, the Bomb are playing the official SXSW day party we are co-hosting with American Songwriter/Americansongspace.com on Fri. March 20 @ SXSW (more on that to come).
The note mr. DPR was referring to stated that The Bomb and others were not eligible to be included in the official nighttime showcases because they had not submitted to perform @ SXSW or, in the case of some, had submitted and chosen not to attend.
Lots of Nash-associated stuff @ SXSW this year including "Make Out With Violence" screenings.
Are And the Relatives going down there this year?
@jmw, they would if they were booked to play!
@deagol, holy shit.. an official release from the soundtrack. day - made.
Yes, this is my shameless plug for my band. Glossary will be in Austin for the week. We would love to feel a little Nashville love while we are there. Here is our schedule.
Tuesday March 17th 10pm - Beerland with Grand Champeen and Two Cow Garage. Amazing bands. 711 Red River.
Thursday March 19th - Noon-ish - Jovita's - KDHX/ Twangfest Day Party - 1617 S 1st St. This is always a good time.
Thursday March 19th - 11pm - Habana Calle 6 Patio. 709 E 6th St. Official Showcase, Undertow Music Collective.
Todd will also be playing Friday with Ben Nichols of Lucero at Maggie Mae's. 9pm. 323 E. 6th.
If on your way to Austin you see a 2 tone Light Blue/ Dark Blue 1990 Chevy Van with a God Bless Johnny Cash Bumper Sticker and Rutherford County Tags on the side of the interstate that would be us. Please stop to help.
