Since its modest beginning at the Sutler club 13 years ago, Billy Block's weekly showcase of national and local country artists has blossomed into a local institution. The performances are now broadcast on WKDF and streamed online. In his tenure, Block has hosted the likes of Allison Moorer, Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Keith Urban, Hank III, Marty Stuart and Deirks Bentley among others. So if you aren't one of those "anything but country" people, be sure to head down to 12th & Porter tomorrow night and help The BBS celebrate its 13th anniversary. The show performances by Jim Lauderdale, Randy Kohrs, Elizabeth Cook, Tim Carroll, Stonehoney & Jimmy Barret. I think Stonehoney does country interpretations of Stone Roses and Mudhoney songs; can anyone confirm this? Things start poppin' at 7 p.m. Visit their official site here for more info.
