Hey, please be my love. Yeah-aaahhhh. Here's a list of the sexy sounds you have the opportunity to check out before you either A) go home and get busy, B) pull a seduction fail or C) choose not to celebrate this bunk-ass holiday:

Dr. Dog w/Drug Rug & Floating Action at Mercy Lounge. I'm an unabashed Dog fan, and I'll be there with my roomie on a total buddy date. I hear it's sold out (no luck on Craigslist last I checked), but you can catch Drug Rug 5 p.m. at Grimey's.

Mark Olson and Gary Louris of The Jayhawks at Exit/In. They're also doing an in-store at Grimey's. 4 p.m.

'70s Valentine's Classic feat. Little Richard at the Grand Ole Opry House. As Tim Davis points out, it isn't particularly clear why Little Richard is playing a '70s-themed show, but who the hell needs an excuse to see "Tutti Frutti" performed by this wonderfully mincing old legend?

Itzhak Perlman at Schermerhorn. Kickin' it classical style! No backing tracks this time.

The Basement's Valentine's Day Celebration feat. David Mead, Swan Dive & Brigid Kaelin.

Other options include Live Well w/The Joiners at fooBar (D. Striker informed us last night that Athens' Clay Leverett will be opening), Sexpipe w/The Outlaw Lovers & Fuck Show at Springwater, the SPBGMA Bluegrass Awards at Sheraton Music City Hotel and Minor Kings w/The Worsties at 12th & Porter. If you can't get into somebody's pants with all those options, well then friend, maybe you just don't deserve to. Consider your weekend rounded the hell up. Godspeed!

Super Ultimate Gross Valentine’s Day Extravaganza @ Little Hamilton.
Show details listed as such: "Kid Chicago and Super Deadly Dance Farty, get laid, kissing booth, free hot dogs - sike, out of control booth, glory hole - for real (if someone tries to fuck Derrick through the gloryhole, he’s going to be really bummed out), red carpet, candy fragrance, free breakups, and bleeding hearts. P.S. movies in the background. And maybe some other acts."
A pair of Washingtons gets you in.

I was really curious to see if Little Richard actually played any of his 70s songs, but I had tix for Preds/Bruins. The albums that he put out on Reprise during those years are actually pretty good, but they definitely weren''t soul...more of a Southern hard rock than anything else...
