Usually, the missed connections I post here from Craigslist are about ill-fated hot people and the rock shows they slum around, but this one was musical enough that I couldn't resist posting it. Some dude ran into some girl at what sounds like a book store, but he was selling CDs, so maybe it was Great Escape. He managed to wave at her, but the kiss of death in this never-gonna-happen-anyway romance is guilt by association. He spends an inordinate, he-doth-protest-too-much amount of time trying to convince her that the Jessica Simpson CD among his rejected pile was, indeed, not his. Yeah, right, dude.
You were the auburn red hair, skinny girl dressed in tight black clothes sitting at a computer putting price tags on books at your work. your hair is messy and tickles your face. you looked either at me or the person beside me when you came up to put something away. You probably saw me because my mohawk. I traded in some cds and was embarrassed because one cd in there was my ex-girlfriends Jessica Simson cd but everything else was mine. The Danzig and Joy Division was mine. I didn't want you to see me have the Jessiac Simson and think i am lame.I waved at you and smiled when I was checking out and you looked up but might not have known that It was for you. you are pretty hot. i think if you don't like Jessica Simson either we could get it good.

oh man I just read this one.
Missed Connections are funnier today and
Jessica Simpson's name is incredibly difficult.
Selling CD's is pretty lose-lose, because if it's something good, then it's like "why wouldn't you want to keep that," but if the CD is bad, it's like "why did you have it in the first place." Either way, you're admitting your own fecklessness & poor judgment. Hopefully the people buying them don't care.
I enjoy how this ad gets all bawdy at the end, with the phrase "we could get it good."
