Cream Calendar Annuals to Play Exit/In Mar. 6

Remember that hot minute-and-a-half when Annuals were the biggest deal in the history of the indie rock Internets since CYHSY? No? Maybe you were over them before you were into them; they were, after all, birthed into the public consciousness through the love canal we know as Pitchfork, which called them "some fantasy hybrid of Animal Collective, Arcade Fire, and Broken Social Scene," and had earned more stripes toward the exalted title of "most overhyped band ever" before their debut album was even a month old.
Bill Wasik has a thoughtful essay in Oxford American on Annuals and the whole preemptive backlash slash "Pitchfork effect" slash our impatient music-consumption cycle slash who needs tastemakers (question) thing. So read that if you like.

Of course, we're a couple of hype cycles past Annuals now, but I mention all this because the band starts a tour in Minneapolis today that will bring them to Nashville on Mar. 3. They'll play Exit/In with Jessica Lea Mayfield. Full tour itinerary and widget thingy (thanks, Stark) after the jump.
