If you pick up a copy of this week's dead tree edition, you'll find our annual Rock 'n' Roll Poll, compiled this year by Mr. Adam "Dave Matthews rules my life" Gold and myself. While you'll find plenty of gems in the spread (e.g. David Berman's favorite episodes of CMT Crossroads and what Brendan Benson thinks of himself), we were only able to include so much with our given amount of space. Thusly, we present to you outtakes--the gold that was just too golden for print. Or too superfluous. Take your pick. If you don't recognize some of the names, find a paper copy of The Scene to crack the code. Outtakes after the jump.

What was the best local venue of 2008?

Mercy Lounge. --Joe Baine Colvert, Madison Conger, Denis Deck, Aaron Distler, Michael Eades, Matt Hearn, Ethan Opelt, Darrin Revell, Caitlin Rose, Dean Shortland, Janet Timmons

The 5 Spot. --Aaron Distler, Ryan Ervin, Jeremy Ferguson [answered "most improved"], Dean Shortland

The Basement. --Brendan Benson, Brian Miles, Dean Shortland

Exit/In. --David Berman

Little Hamilton. --Bob Orrall

Larry's Gumbo Trap. --Chris Crofton

Worst venue bathroom?

Forever Springwater. --Caitlin Rose

The men's room at Springwater makes the one at The End feel like a Belle Meade day spa. --Joe Baine Colvert

Springwater. I heard a guy went in there once and never came out. --Madison

Conger

Springwater is still the king. --Darren Revell

It's a toss-up between Springwater and The End. At least there is a lock on the door at Springwater. --Brian Miles

The End or Springwater, definitely. --Jeremy Ferguson

The End. I wouldn't even wash my hands in there. --Ryan Ervin

The End is pretty awful. --Aaron Distler

The End's bathroom is pretty dead awful...filthy little thunder box. --Dean Shortland

Men's bathroom at Exit/In, particularly during that phase with the bathroom attendant...I couldn't even bring myself to look him in the eye. --Michael

Eades

I would say Exit/In, but thankfully they quickly ditched the bathroom attendant. The Rutledge? But only because the last time I was there the bathroom was plastered with Waves On Waves ads. --Janet Timmons

Cheekwood. --Chris Crofton

What was the most inaccurate thing you saw written about a band this year?

Stage "collapsed" during Girl Talk show. --Drew Mischke

Rent at Battletapes' house does not include weedman subscription. --Todd Kemp

Not about one band in particular, but a few stories along the lines of "so-and-so band are destined to become famous because they have gone to Europe with X producer and blah blah blah." Also, that a female would have sexual relations with Bob Ferrari. --Ryan Ervin

Hardest-working local musician?

Rollum Haas. --John Bruton

Nathan Lee. --Justin Roddick

Andy Willhite. --Todd Kemp

Eli Beaird. --Matt Hearn

Kyle Andrews. --Dean Shortland

Daniel Pujol. --Bob Orrall

Best/worst band break-up of the year?

Best: Aerosmith. Worst: Pink Floyd. --Jeremy Ferguson

Be Your Own Pet is the only band I can think of, for bad or for good. --Caitlin Rose

What did we forget to ask you?

What my favorite Randy Moore and the Fabulous Suedes song is. --Ryan Ervin

What title to make my check out to. Answer: Dr. Jeremy Spacelord Ferguson, Hero. --Jeremy Ferguson

What's that bump on my junk? --Aaron Distler

What about deez? ...Deez nutz. --Caitlin Rose

Best slogans? "The Dixie Chicks Were Right" and "Keep Nashville Corny." --David Berman

Nothing. You guys are so comprehensive. --Madison Conger

And if you're upset that we didn't poll you, then either become more recognizable or send us your email address for '09.
