Hey, remember Bonnaroo? Yeah. Neither do I. But just hearing that word again conjures faint memories--the odor of cannabis and nude women's body paint; waiting in line to use the porta-potties that were filthy by 11 a.m. on Day 1; eating drugs way too early in the morning and freaking out during Louis C.K.'s set in the comedy tent. Good times.
Well the folks at 'Roo headquarters are releasing visual documentation of Manchester's second biggest party of the year (right behind Old Timer's Day, of course). The Live From Bonnaroo 2008 DVD is already available for pre-order. Via Pitchfork:
Featuring performances from the likes of Broken Social Scene, Mastodon, the Raconteurs, My Morning Jacket, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Metallica, Tegan and Sara, Against Me!, Gogol Bordello, Pearl Jam, and others, the set was directed by Sam Erickson and 44 Pictures. The audio comes straight from Bonnaroo's soundboard masters and was remixed in stereo and 5.1 surround sound.
So sweet you just might forget it was one of the weaker Bonnaroo lineups in years. And while you're re-living your glory days from this year's 'Roo, don't forget to go ahead and pick up your '09 tickets. Maybe the girl with dreads you made out with during Kanye will be there again. Better still, maybe Kanye will play again in a display of altruism and letting bygones be bygones. Yeah. Probably not. Trailer and list of performances after the jump.

dvd of roo '08? no thanks, doing my best to forget it. yawn, at the rate they're dulling/mainstreaming the lineup nickelback and celine dion will be headlining next year.
no MIA?!
eeeefff that S.
actually. i don't remember even seeing cameras at her show. nevermind!
Agreed. As far as spectacle goes, I'd have to say MIA put on the most DVD-worthy show. Others I'm surprised (well...disappointed) not to see on the list include Fiery Furnaces, Cat Power and Sigur Ros (although I'm not a big fan, their show was impressive).
