This week I wrote about the growing underground fashion scene in Nashville--crafty ladies (and a few dudes) designing original dresses, skirts and T-shirts who operate apart from Nashville's traditional sartorial output for red-carpet country events. Not only is it cool that these folks are sticking around Nashville when the coasts are calling their names, they're also creating the perfect merger of rock and fashion in town by hosting their designs out of the vintage boutique/backyard venue Local Honey. It's all thanks to owner/designer Shea Steele, who for years has been acting den mother of this scene in its infancy. Tomorrow night, Local Honey is hosting a party to celebrate 12 designers' latest goods. If you're the sort of guy or gal looking to bust out of the Old Navy rut--or if you're just into the idea of the handmade and lovingly stitched--this is your chance to score shit no one else has, support your local art scene and/or drool over waifish indie chicks. Do it.
