Monday Monday: D. Charles Speer, Darker My Love, Etc.

Posted by Steve Haruch on Mon, Dec 8, 2008 at 6:06 AM

Monday night comes down to whether you're more neo-neo-neo (psych) or alt-alt-alt (country).

For the meandering head journey psych rocker in you, there's Darker My Love at Exit/In with The Strange Boys. Let's call that 9 p.m. for wah-wah jammy and the space riffs.

For the meandering head journey psych rocker in you who feels like putting yer boots down in something less processed, then you ought to meander over to Nashville's very own rock 'n' roll Hellmouth, Springwater. D. Charles Speer and his honky-tonkin' Helix are in town. They'll be supported by The Cherry Blossoms and The Tyler Family Band (as in William Tyler of Silverchop/Lambjews fame, if you're scoring at home). I'm told this will start at 9:30 p.m., hopefully, but definitely, like, seriously, no later than 10 p.m.
