Creamtastic Duty Now for the Future: Harass Kid Rock in Any Way Possible!

I know that, historically, Nashville is where careers in Rock go to die, but sometimes there is just so much vanilla humdrum in our fair city I feel like I can't take it, like my heart's going to cave in. This is one of those times. According to an article in yesterday's Tennessean, we in Nashville might be seeing a lot more of Kid Rock in the days to come.
Kid Rock has a Nashville home and has become a part of the city's musical fabric. "I like the people," he says. "It's just a great representation of America."
I know I'm not the only one who has a problem with this. I do however see it as an opportunity for us to do something for this city that we love so much. If you happen to see Kid Rock anywhere in Davidson or Williamson County, then it is now your civic duty to kick him in the balls. Brothers. Sisters. All fellow Nashvillians. Come together and show this American dumbass that he's NOT WELCOME. Don't feel bad about doing it either. Remeber, he hurt you first. You might think I'm kidding...I'm serious. I don't want this guy spreading his seed around these parts and tainting our gene pool with his mediocrity.
As a reminder of the what we're up against I have posted a preview of VH1's Storytellers featuring Kid Rock (filmed in Nashville and premiering on Thanksgiving Day). That's right! Kid Rock will join the ranks of legends like Ray Davies, Elvis Costello, Ringo Starr, David Bowie, Tom Petty, Pete Townshend, Robert Plant, R.E.M., The Pretenders, John Fogerty, Paul Simon and Bruce Springsteen as he tells the stories behind one of the most irrevelant songbooks in the Rock 'n' Roll Pantheon, from which he should be banned for life. Spoiler alert: The show will open with a version of "Bawitdaba" in which Mr. Rock will be joined by a black choir.

i don't think i could generate enough angst or ill-will against anybody right now to 'kick them in the balls'. maybe that red-headed dude from CSI? plus, a dude kicking another dude in the balls is just not right. i'm all for a wronged chick to do as much ball kicking as she can get away with, but dudes...nah.

To answer your question Mark, it would be people who like hip hop, rhythm and blues, country, soul, gospel and rock and roll. Apparently he is the culmination of all those things and his music tells that story. I guess he's sort of like the Ken Burns of rock.
i am not a big fan of kid rock... he music seems like a joke... maybe we can get hank III and kid rock to duke it out.... all my $$ on hank the tank.

I don't know Gold, I haven't alway been a bid Kid Rock supporter, but I believe that teaser video may have converted me. Who can say no to jump cuts and handwritten, cursive lyrics floating through the sky? How can you frown on Kid's new found appreciation for black people? I'm sure you remember the giant Confederate Flag backdrop(and underwear) that graced the stage on his tour for so many years, now his backdrop is black people! its beautiful to see how a total racist and complete piece of shit can change (Thanks Obama!) and become a total fucking moron instead...some might say he should die in a fire, but that might be a little too much...I think good old Kid so live an eternity!

Do I detect some jealousy? No one is asking you to have his babies or declare him as a role model. He's got the talent and he has proven he can sell his music. He has earned some respect for that. If he was a big fat guy in a cowboy hat publicly cheating on his wife and singing love songs to his "other woman" would that make him more acceptable in Nashville?

Kid rock's son, is fathered by a black girl he met in 8th grade.. They went thier seperate ways, and Kid and his family have raised the boy. Rev Run, Russel Simmons of RUNDMC, very black, and counts the kid as one of his closer friends, I am sure Rev run, hangs with Racists all the time.. Kid's MI home, is a few miles from me. He gives to the community, supports the troops, and even with a tireless touring schedule is around quite a bit to support his son/family.
Before you start throwing stones, at least pick on somthing that is factual. As for his talent level, all I have to say, so go to a show,and read the credits on his CD liner notes once, and see if your opinion changes.. Oh and ask all the people you feel should be raised up "Tom Petty, Hank Jr.... etc etc.. what they feel about him..

Anyone involved in working with this clown is only doing it for the potential money it could bring in. I do admit that he has made a lot of dough cashing in on other artist's creativity which is pretty sad when you get right down to it-- why bother thinking up something original when you can just steal it, right? I'm sure he somehow justifies it to himself by imagining that he's 'improving' upon the original source material too. "Check out the dope raps I added to this Zevon jam, bro! He's dead so he couldn't complain!"
'Kid Rock' is a fucking musical joke who aims at people who consider music to be background noise. The fact that he has fooled a bunch of dimbulbs into thinking his awful crap is worth spending money on doesn't mean he is a genius-- he's merely a capitalist who figured out that there are a LOT of fools in the world who are easily separated from their paychecks. Congrats! He got you too!
I checked the claim about him working with Tom Petty as well and thankfully that was untrue. I was pretty certain that Petty hadn't lost his mind (or good taste) and I was correct.
From what I've seen, the guy has a respectable amount of musical talent, putting him at least on par with most of the dishwashers in this town. So, GfromD, we don't really give a shit that he can play. We can all play here.
What many of us resent is his flaunting of classless Middle Ameritrash culture as if its something to behold, and the fact that he is completely unrepentant in his douchedom. We could give a shit about his good works in some small MI town. He should stay up there with the rest of you ICP fanboys and leave us alone. We have enough industry crap to worry about without Mr. Cocky being a pathetic attention-whore and making us look even more ridiculous than Mr. and the young Miss Cyrus ever dreamed we could.
I'm not a fan of Kid Rock's music either, but what is with all of the outright hatred of someone you don't even know? If you don't like the music the guy makes, don't buy it - don't listen to it - don't support it. End of story.
The fact of the matter is, most of you who make it a point to hate this guy and encourage "kicking him in the balls" have probably never gotten into a fight in your life, and would avoid a physical altercation at all costs.

Yes, and that is totally fine, Larry. Let them have the money. What I find baffling is how 'Kid Rock' or any other loser like him can hear someone else's music and decide that it would be easier to just put out a 'revised' version of the same song and call it their own rather than attempting to create something new. It's really fucking lame and I believe his examples of this kind of crap aren't really in line with what is being done in hip hop, a lot of which has actual creative merit for the way that old beats are mixed or re-invented to create a NEW piece of work. In this instance, he took the music and melody that at least two other artists created and slapped his horrid voice and insipid lyrics on top just to cash in. THAT is what offends me (in addition to his scummy appearance and obvious coattail riding).
If I remember right Kid Rock had the CMA crowd standing and cheering when he was done playing last week.He also has over 30 million records sold.I sure the country artists don't mind him turning on his millions of fans on to Nashville.I am also sure a lot of his fans are now buying country record that wouldn't usually buy them.Its called crossing over and that where the big money is Rock's smart.Picture was # 1 in 3 different formats at one time got to respect that.He also is about to spend his 3rd Christmas in Iraq visiting our troops.Love him or hate him the mans brings it 100% every time he hits the stage.He has been on a roll for 10 years.Now how many artists can say that not many.If you only knew how much cash he gives away to causes he believes in.The CMA people love him why all the hate here..Peace God Bless...Al

Okay, now that's over, the original post did strike me as a bit mean-spirited. Think about it, no one wants to get kicked in the testicular region, even someone without a soul (ie: Kid Rock).

He's one of those guys you either love or hate. Just like he says, "I'm your late night drunk debate". Personally, I LOVE him. Don't know the man from Adam but the last time I checked, we still lived in a FREE COUNTRY where we can live wherever we choose to live. Think what you want about the man, but look at the good things he's done, not the mistakes he's made. The sheer # of albums he's sold, concerts he's sold out, etc. proves that he's a great songwriter/musician. Everyone has their opinion but don't bash someone you don't even know just going by what's portrayed in the media! Do some research before you talk sh@t about somebody you personally just don't happen to like. Sounds like jealousy to me, if you want my opinion. He may be the biggest @sshole in the world, I don't know...but I know plenty of men who are and are doing a lot worse things in the "greater" Nashville area so kick them in the balls instead. It's his life, he can live it how he sees fit & if it doesn't affect you personally, leave him the f#ck alone. you live your perfect little life & let him live his :)
