Thursday...what to do?

His bandmates in Ghostfinger gamely took on their Next Big Nashville slot without him (and were surprisingly engaging in the process) but there really is no replacing drummer Van Campbell, who can pick 'em up and put 'em down with the best of them. His other project, the hard-touring, hard-grooving Black Diamond Heavies, play tonight at The Basement. 9 p.m.

But if you can't fight this feeling and really want to take it on the run, then you'd better head down to the Wildhorse for R.E.O. Speedwagon. (We've read your emails, and no, "R.E.O." does not stand for "Robert Ellis Orrall.") Have you ever heard a band write a power ballad with more power in its balladry than "Keep on Loving You"? Come. On. This show starts at 6 p.m., allegedly, so make sure you get that report to Jenkins ASAP.
