Does Obama Like Bluegrass? (Slight Return)

The question was recently raised, by Ricky Skaggs, as to whether our new president-elect likes country and bluegrass music. (Mr. Skaggs seems to doubt it.)

I don't know if Alex Tatusian read Mr. Skaggs' comment, but he did write a blog entry called "Barack Hussein Obama: If That Ain't Country I'll Kiss Your Ass" that starts off thusly: "A badass name makes a real country singer. Three names make an outlaw."

Now, I don't typically enjoy discussions of who is more authentic (more country, more black, more American, whatever), but I do like Tatusian's thesis that Obama and David Allan Coe are kindred spirits.

Obama likes The Boss, The Boss likes blugrass. Obama likes blugrass or The Boss won't like Obama. It's simple, Bruce is God. Duh.
