The question was recently raised, by Ricky Skaggs, as to whether our new president-elect likes country and bluegrass music. (Mr. Skaggs seems to doubt it.)
I don't know if Alex Tatusian read Mr. Skaggs' comment, but he did write a blog entry called "Barack Hussein Obama: If That Ain't Country I'll Kiss Your Ass" that starts off thusly: "A badass name makes a real country singer. Three names make an outlaw."
Now, I don't typically enjoy discussions of who is more authentic (more country, more black, more American, whatever), but I do like Tatusian's thesis that Obama and David Allan Coe are kindred spirits.
