Hot Goss Jemina Pearl the Gossip Girl

Dunno if anyone else was watching, but I couldn't help but notice it was former BYOP front girl Jemina Pearl singing The Ramones' "Sheena Is a Punk Rocker" during the climax of last night's episode of Gossip Girl. For those who missed it: After having quit her fancy but thankless internship in the fashion industry, Jenny and her new friend Agnes (who you may also recognize as Caitlin Cooper from the third and fourth seasons of The OC) stage a guerilla fashion show at this swanky charity gala to unleash her stylish creations on Manhattan's morbidly wealthy elite. In real life, this would be something like your 15-year-old punk rock band playing a surprise show at the family reunion in hopes of getting a record deal, but not surprisingly, it works here. The old folks are initially appalled, but wouldn't you know, a couple of them get into it and before you know it, Jenny's completely outrageous and inappropriate stunt is a success. Again, all this to the tune of Jemina's Ramones cover. I did a little research and found the recording was actually commissioned by the show and was a collaboration betwixt Pearl and Thurston Moore. Could this lead to yet another Sonic Youth side project? Perhaps a J-Pearl solo album? I have no idea, and Pitchfork doesn't either. There doesn't seem to be any other access to the track besides streaming this particular episode online, which is a shame cause it sounded kind of fly to me.

But these are both things that Casio openly admits to loving.
I heard somewhere that she is actually working on a solo project with Moore and former BYOP drummer John Eatherly.

say what you want about jemina or BYOP or whatever, but everybody has to admit she oozes rock star. if this is a repeat, sorry. hopefully the master of cream will take care of it.

Why would Thurston do some dumb shit like this after all these years of seemingly protecting the integrity of his music. and how phucking lame is it to cove a Ramones song,not even mentioning doing it on "gossip girls"? really really really phucking lame is the answer!
