Karen Elson (whose husband, named Jack White, plays in a local band called The Raconteurs and another band called The White Stripes) tells Vogue that she likes living here. "Life in Nashville is way more easy-going," she says. She's not exactly trying to blend in, though. (Not that supermodels blend in all that easily to begin with.)
"I'm very proud of coming from Manchester - I try to preserve that," she tells Sunday Times Style. "I get really annoyed if I hear an American twang in my accent. It feels like I've betrayed my country."
So, country first. Or is that Country second?

I read the Vogue piece and don't believe Ms. Elson was speaking against country or Country; sounds to me like she appreciates and respects her place of origin as well as her current home. In America.
That's the twang she refers to, despite what this headline might suggest. (Which is in itself a grammatical gem! I don't want to Talk Like One, either...but One what? Gawd, how about proving her point, eh?!)
I'm curious why this tidbit appears in a blog devoted to music. We know her husband, we know she sings. But puh-leez. Nothing else going on today?
