Isn't it like so sad when a band breaks up? All that potential, all those hot chicks who came to shows, all those deluxe edition liner notes—unwritten forever...like dust in the wind.
This band has been a tremendous chapter in our stories, there are so many memories, stories, and moments of beauty that I will never forget. But this life is vanity. All of our toil and labor is a crashing wave. Even if I accomplished all I wanted in this life, I will become dust and ashes. In a few years most of the world, if not all of it will forget Sophia and our life’s work will mean very little to anybody. Our social commentaries will be irrelevant and our t-shirt designs will be unfashionable. But I do believe that we did good. I believe there were days when we lived well.
Just remember all the good times, man. No one can take those away from you. I mean, being in a band is such important work (you should sort of whisper those last three words). Please don't stop believin'.

Just because you can set the font size to 11pt doesn't mean it's a good idea.
I believe there were days when we lived well.
Well good for you, asshole.
Meanwhile at Belmont, candlelight vigils will be held and both women and men alike will weep. Mostly at the fact that the ratio of bands to country singer-songwriters here just got a little more skewed.
Don't know the band, don't particularly care.
But just wanted to ask: the part about "such important work" .... as compared to, say, writing blogs?
Don't get me wrong: from the quote you posted it looks as though these guys probably sucked hard in the most sincere way possible.
But aren't you writing these articles and maintaining this little portal of the web-o-sphere solely on the basis of bands/music being fairly important to somebody? Your staff or readers perhaps?
That's what I fucking thought.
