This week it's really about Best of Nashville, so check out the music selections, featuring the year's finest assholes and dandies, with everything from Gumby to The Good Life.

Also this week:

For Those About to...: Lucinda Williams and Amy Ray may not have a lot in common, but they’re both rocking now. (Lucinda Williams plays Friday, 17th at War Memorial Auditorium; Amy Ray plays Sunday, 19th at 3rd & Lindsley.)

A Refreshing Place to Be: Jessica Simpson reflects on her new album, ponders a move to Franklin.

Ready to Pop: Robert Pollard's Boston Spaceships splash down. (Playing Saturday, 18th at Mercy Lounge.)

Man Man's Rabbit Habits: A more mature brand of skronking apocalyptica. (Playing Wednesday, 22nd at Mercy Lounge.)

In The Spin: The Black Keys, Jesco White, Girls Rock & Girls Rule and more.

Smallest Art Gallery got a huge full page spread (thanks!) but we weren't even invited to the awards.
On an unrelated note, if I were Jon Burr I'd be legitimately erked about the awful Photoshop job for his Best Local Dandy award image.

explanation?
Probably that we had to guess at a lot of the addresses, especially those involving blogs, so as not to tip people off. Several invitations were returned.
I know Smallest Art Gallery was at least sent an invitation, as I saw the award packet waiting for you at the party. My apologies that it never got to you.

Of course not, silly. That's a penis.

"Probably that we had to guess at a lot of the addresses,"
Our address IS the gallery address. So, not much guessing involved.
But I digress, the honor is much appreciated.. I just would have liked to have been at the party. That's all.

Are you guys sure that the "best place to be an asshole" isn't working behind the counter at Bongo Java East. That place employs the biggist fucking idiots in Nashville.

Amen to that. I'm willing to accept either slow service or rude service. Not both. That place fucking sucks. So, I guess Nashville Cream is a better place to be an asshole because at least sometimes I laugh at the assholes here, instead of having to wait for them to give me coffee.

Glad you two pointed that out. I ve lived in East Nashville for four years and detest Bongo Java. I just can't believe the owners would hire people like that. I drive across town to get my coffee at fido now and it's well worth the drive. They should fire all the idiotic assholes that work at Bongo Java East and start over.
