Kanye Debuts New Video on Ellen. MTV Officially Useless.

Maybe the Bonnaroo debacle convinced Kanye West he was chasing the wrong demographic, or more likely, that MTV couldn't be bothered to disrupt another marathon showing of The Hills to world premiere his newest video, "Love Lockdown." Either way, 'Ye debuted his new video today on Ellen, no doubt delighting homemakers and unemployed rap fans alike.

I can't help but think if this were 1991, he'd be sporting that piece alongside Dre and Ed Lover on MTV's Yo! MTV Raps, sandwiched between Black Sheep and EPMD. Had you told me then that I'd be more apt to catch the new Metallica joint on Dr. Phil as opposed to Headbanger's Ball, I may have very well kicked you in the junk and run to my room searching for reasons to live past puberty.

It's an acknowledgement of the the source of the news. And a knock at Faux News.
