You may recall from our post last week that Brian Wilson is playing The Ryman November 10. And yes, tickets are still available. Well Grimey's has just announced that they'll be hosting the wacky Beach Boy at an in-store signing and brunch on November 9 at 1 p.m. The only catch: you have to buy Wilson's latest album That Lucky Old Sun in order to meet him.

My in-store signing at K-Mart on Oct. 31st will be way groovier with free with hot dogs and Extenze samples.
in the gift shop at the musician's hall of fame, there's a display with a fender bass signed by brian wilson... it looks like a 4 year old signed it. i want one of them!
Will it be Brian Wilson, or the same machine puppet that they use on stage?
So in last week's post Brian Wilson was uncool. But now that he is going to appear at Grimey's, he's cool again. Thanks again Nashville Cream. It's hard to keep these important things straight, but, that's why we have you guys to keep us cool.
Pretty sure Brian Wilson's always been kool. I believe last week's post retained to the matter of whether or not his live shows were worth the kost of a ticket. Besides, we try to provide info on events that may interest the Nashville audience at large. You're allowed to determine for yourself what's kool.
man, i fucking love the beach boys, but seeing brian wilson live is probably the best way to give yourself a sympathetic anxiety attack. when i saw him play a christmas song on one of the late shows a few years ago, he looked so nervous and out of sorts that i think anyone watching the show wanted to do exactly what he wanted to do: crawl into bed and hide under the covers until the sun came back up.
who said anything about brian wilson not being kool? seems like someone on here has an inferiority complex when things like kool record stores or kool bands get mentioned. i'd love to meet mr. wilson and shake his hand and tell him congrats on keeping up with recording, performing, and all those wonderful things. i'd also rather buy his new album than pay a gazillion dollars on a show that lacks a connectedness and calm most live performers can exude. lack of bang for the buck is what the previous post mentioned possibly not being kool. despite this, i'm happy he's playing the ryman and i'm happy lots of folks will go and see him for the first time and still probably enjoy it a lot.
Wow. Did I actually say "retained" instead of "pertained"? Damn. Long day. Unkool.
I just may! Hope I don't run across any trolls while crossing the I-440 overpass on the way there.
