In Moderation: Next Big Nashville Conference Friday Schedule

I'll be moderating the producers panel at 3 p.m., sharing the dais with Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Pictures and Sound), Justin Loucks/Ian Fitchuk (Griffin House, Landon Pigg), Neilson Hubbard (Glen Phillips, Garrison Starr), Roger Moutenot (Yo La Tengo, Sleater-Kinney, Jessie Baylin) and Craig A. King (Aaliyah, Ludacris).

21st Century DIY

Time: 10-11 a.m.

Location: Musicians Hall of Fame (301 6th Ave S)

Start: 10:00 am, End: 11:00 am

Description: The New Tools and Services available for independent or independent minded artists and representatives. Reps from websites, third party service providers and new media companies discuss the new slate of tools available for independent artists and music businesses. BADGES ONLY.

21st Century DIY: Marketing and Money Management on New Century Music Budgets

Time: 11:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

Location: Musicians Hall of Fame (301 6th Ave S)

Description: Music marketing and budgeting beyond the outmoded plug and play concept (i:e hire a publicist, hire an indie promoter, buy a retail program and go). How and where you should spend your money when marketing a record in the 2.0 world. BADGES ONLY.

Fighting For Your Rights

Time: 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Location: Musicians Hall of Fame (301 6th Ave S)

Description: As a musician and/or songwriter in the 21st Century, who is fighting for you, or at least who is supposed to be, in the ongoing battle to determine the future of copyright? Representatives from major organizations and unions explain their roles, their positions and their companies and answer pressing questions about the future of musical income. BADGES ONLY.

21st Century DIY: Branding, Syncs and Other Avenues Beyond Radio and Retail

Time: 1:45-2:45 p.m.

Description: Panel to discuss avenues for your music beyond radio and retail including film and TV placements as well as branding, sponsorships, commercials and other outlets. BADGES ONLY.

Producers, Who Needs 'Em?

Time: 3-4 p.m.

Location: Musicians Hall of Fame (301 6th Ave S)

Description: A discussion of the role producers play in the post-Pro Tools/Garageband, DIY recording world where "everyone is a producer." BADGES ONLY.

Red Bull Music Academy Workshop

Time: 4:15-5 p.m.

Location: Musicians Hall of Fame (301 6th Ave S)

Description: A one on one interview and Q & A session with Egon, world renowned DJ, Nashville native and founder of the acclaimed and influential Stones Throw Records. BADGES ONLY.
