R.I.P. Jerry Reed

Jerry Reed, the guitarist and actor, has died at age 71, according to an Associated Press report. Reed appeared in the Smokey and the Bandit movies, as well as the extremely short-lived TV series Nashville 99 (above).

that mother fucker (RIP) could flat play some goddamn guitar. i used to see him down at melpark with eddie arnold and ray stevens once or twice a week. he will be missed

Jerry Reed was MONSTER on guitar. It's too bad that most people will remember him for Smokey and the Bandit. "Amos Moses" was badass...

Thanks, Mike. I would like to point out that I love the guitar work of Jerry Reed and the contributions he made to music, but I love Scooby Doo even more and I can't resist a Scooby joke. Just wait til the Harlem Globetrotters start dying off...
