National Skyline Oh Wow Dang, We Totally Scooped SF-J!!!

Rarely do I get to gloat over finding an artist before one of my favorite record critics, but today is the day! Sasha Frere-Jones of The New Yorker posted the video above from the First Ladies of Fingerin' Lickin', Murfreesboro's own Those Darlins. I just wanted to be super-douchey and scream "First!" 'cause I'm on the internet and that's how we do things 'round here. As for the Darlins, they've got some of their new recordings on Ye Ol' MySpace, they'll be playing The Basement on the 19th, and they're hitting some of the best clubs in the Northeast this October with Langhorne Slim. Not too shabby for a bunch of snaggle-toothed mamas.

i kind of like it when the gimmicks are 'putting on a good show' and 'being hot', though. i dig the darlins.
