We all love Scooby Doo for its thinly veiled weed references and campy, nonsensical villains. There’s something to be said for a world in which the monster is always just a maniacal old dude in a mask. Until recently, I hadn’t ever caught this particular episode. It stars a surprisingly calm Jerry Reed, who leads the gang to where he’s been kidnapped by playing “Pretty Mary Sunlite.” While the episode never mentions Nashville by name, The Grand Old Country Music Hall and Andrew Jackson Hotel are obvious nods.
“Lucky you knew the Morse code, Jerry.”
“Yeah. Don’t everybody?”
Gold.

I know S.O.S. in morse code... only because of that damn dishwasher detergent commercial :/
Awesome find btw.
god, how i love jerry reed. it's worth youtubing him just to watch him pick. such a great guitarist and such a different breed of 'entertainer' from another era. i always loved this episode. i used to get that 'pretty mary sunshine' or sunlight or whatever stuck in my head. i hear his health is failing. keep jerry in your thoughts y'all.
