Department of Name Changes:

Know those Illinois transplants called The Titts? Their drummer Chad quit, 'cause he's moving back to Illinois. His replacement is Matt Hearn who also drums for The Glib. The Titts claim they're also changing the name of the band so they can "can get played on the radio and subsequently become rich and famous." Feable Weiner syndrome, anyone? Here are the suggestions for new names they've come up with so far: The Shanks, The Bad Apples, The Cancer Bullets, The Bloodshots, Chad and the Hardcastles and Stranger Danger.

The Jigsaw Mountain Boys are now called Shoot the Mountain. From what I've heard it was a move to sound less like a country-country band and more like a rock-country band. I'm inclined to say that they made the right choice. The Jigsaw Mountain Boys basically conjures up Hee Haw. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Both bands play with The Clutters at Mercy Lounge on July 24.

Department of Side Projects:

Caitlin Rose has a side project called the Garland Sisters with local singer Tristen.

Department of Hiatuses:

Jay Phillips of Apollo Up! (and formerly of ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, Forget Cassettes) is in Afghanistan for six months. Nope, he didn't join the military, but he is working there as an independent contractor for the Army Education Center, and you can read all about it on his blog.
