The new album by The Features, Some Kind of Salvation, is now available for download. Go to Amazon or Lala.
You can stream the whole thing at Lala, too.
Those who would rather play such a thing with the speed at 33 and one-third will have to wait, but nobody seems to know for how long.
See Out the Other for more info—it's Janet's post that tipped us off. (Same goes for We Own This Town.)
Update: Whoa there, kiddies. Looks like you're not supposed to download the album yet. Janet over at Out the Other explains why her post went missing yesterday: "I spoke to Rollum from The Features and apparently someone SERIOUSLY jumped the gun when this was released digitally, and it's going to be taken down ASAP (if it hasn't already)." As of this update, it hadn't been taken down at Lala, but I removed the links just the same. Mystery solved.

It's good. It'll please hardcore Features fans, but for the "sure, I like'em enough" fan, Exhibit A is the "more rockin'" of the catalog.
I think Jacquire King suites what I envision as the "Features sound" way way more than anything off of Exhibit A. Much like the Wooden Heart EP this sounds like what the Features are _supposed_ to sound like.
Actually from what Matt P. told me at his solo show a few weeks back when asked about the production of this album, it seems Jacquire King had very little to do with it. JK worked on some tracks with them at Brian Carter's studio, and then got "too busy" with other projects. He said they scrapped most of the stuff they'd done with JK and started fresh. Brian C. was the main engineer/producer for the whole thing. Anyone who knows more details feel free to fill in/correct any errors.
I had a post on the Rcketown thing that didn't even show up. What gives?
We've had a few glitches since putting the new captcha in place, so sorry about that. Comments should work fine now.
Yeah sorry about the missing post - I didn't have time to rewrite last night so I just took it all the way down until this morning.
There was a bit of a mix-up and I guess the websites weren't clear on the fact that the mp3s shouldn't go up until October - and though the band requested it be taken down right when they realized, I guess the turnaround on that stuff takes a little while. Sad news all around that it's going to be a while until the real release, but I'm glad people are so excited about the album! (It's seriously my favorite so far this year.)
The funniest part of all that was that even though it was "really" released the record still made it to #45 on the Amazon sales chart. Just think what would happen if everybody was on the same page...
