They're playing at the Iron Horse and The Middle East, two of my favoritest clubs in the whole world, on the weekend of my birthday so I'm thinking it's road trip time. Anybody wanna drive?

To Pancho: you follow Monotonix by playing some GOOD music. These guys are all about their stage
show, and that's about it, it seems to me. The Who, Iggy, Wendy O. Williams, these guys already perfected the confrontational schtick. When you take that away, what are you left with? Some unmemorable blues rock riffs and unintelligible lyrics.
I guess, since the great DC Berman says Monotonix is good, then we should all lap it up. Berman could say that a plate of sh*t is good, and most folks around here would believe it.
As for the Silver Jews following Monotonix, I'm hard pressed to say whether they are the band who can do it. If it weren't for early 90's indie rock nostalgia, I think the Jews would pale by comparison. But 30-somethings need them some Silver Jews, so this has and does work out, especially in a financial sense, for the Jews.
Anyone heard the new SJ record yet? Then you might now why I'm hard-pessed to be excited about any of it...

The world can now rest easy, knowing that some random person on the internet is not excited about this show.

usually i just enjoy reading everyone elses trash talk on here but i'm going to have to chime in here and say that i've never gotten the whole Silver Jews thing. 5% music, 95% mystique if you ask me... and yes, i have been asked.

"night society" is an awesome song. but that's mainly just Malkmus jamming.
