If you saw the movie Once, you're familiar with guitarist Glen Hansard and pianist Marketa Irglova's chance meeting that led to creative collaboration. The record they made together in Prague (2005's Swell Season) inspired the film. They scored the film's soundtrack and won Best Original Song for "Falling Slowly." They've since taken the band name Swell Season.

Tickets go on sale next Friday at 10 a.m.

Put an asterisk by this one for the moment. It's almost certainly going to happen, but Ryman has been having some trouble working out the details with their people. It's supposed to go on sale next weekend, so I guess we'll know one way or the other by then....

I finally saw this over the weekend. The music was great, but even by amateur standards, the acting was pretty terrible. Not to mention that Hansard is a golden shower away from being the indie rock R. Kelly, minus the camcorder.

Is it totally necessary to put the tickets on sale FOUR MONTHS in advance?
