A Call to Budjammers

Posted by on Thu, Feb 21, 2008 at 3:10 PM

Ever wished you could find your place in American pop culture alongside those talking frogs, Real Men of Genius or those dudes who yell “whazzzuppp”? Can you play an instrument or pretend you can? Are you between the ages of 25 and 60? Might you be a Danish twin or Japanese “Budjammer,” preferably with facial hair? Do you like beer?

Then Budweiser has a proposition for you:

*_PROJECT_**: Budweiser Commercial - **Non Union Talent / Musicians ONLY*

* Nashville, TN. 37211*

*_TALENT NEEEDED_**: **Non Union Talent / Musicians ONLY*

*Non Union Band Members - Principals:*

Five band members. Could be all male, but would be interesting to cast for a girl as well and see how that works in the mix. Age range 25 to 60 years old (*they should be and look at least 25 as we're advertising alcohol*). We'd like to keep the brief loose and see what characters come in. *_They should be real musicians_* who can act/improvise, or

actors who can also *play music very well*. * They need to be proficient with their particular instruments *to illustrate their level of dedication/obsession.

We need real characters and a good mix. They need to be interesting/enigmatic. They've experienced life and are not too shiny/clean. Facial hair is good. One could have a hook, or a peculiar eye. Although they live in Nashville, they should be an international crew, ie one or two characters could be non US - there may be a pair of Danish twins, or a Japanese Budjammer for instance. While not trying to look deliberately multinational, they should be a realistic and eclectic mix of characters who have drifted into the musical melting pot and nationality could be one element of this.

They should all be very individual. They're not representative of one musical genre. They've come together because of their obsession with their instruments on which they can play any type of music they choose. We are looking for a group of brilliant musicians - they should just feel natural and right together, but are big characters in their own right. They're all shapes and sizes and ages. But they should never feel like a collection of stereotypes ie. The rocker, the blues guy, the indie kid. Think Gorillaz meets The Band, or The Good, The Bad and The Queen.
