I Got Them Mean Ol' Lowdown Statuesque Blonde Blues

The New York Times has this story on Joss Stone and LeAnn Rimes singin' up a storm for CMT in Franklin:

The setting was a small stage in a studio here, about 20 miles outside Nashville, where Ms. Stone and LeAnn Rimes were beginning rehearsals for a forthcoming episode of the CMT (Country Music Television) series "Crossroads." The show, now in its seventh season and among the highest-rated on the channel, typically pairs a country singer like Ms. Rimes with a more mainstream artist like Ms. Stone, a native of England whose stock in trade is soul. Each is asked to perform on a handful of the other's songs, as well as a cover or two.
The author goes on to try really hard to make Joss Stone seem interesting.

At the end of the article, though, if you can make it that far, is the real story: "[CMT] is currently looking for the right country artist to pair with Lenny Kravitz, and is close to landing partners for Maroon 5 and Def Leppard, [executive producer Bill] Flanagan said." I think Kenny Chesney is the obvious choice for Kravitz, because, you know, they could be "Lenny Chesney."

"Still," the story goes on, "the producers have their wish lists, which include Neil Young, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and, probably at the very top, Bruce Springsteen."

So that would be:

Maroon 5 + Who the fuck cares about Maroon 5? Next.
Def Leppard + I guess "Pour Some Sugarland on Me" is lame, and they've already been on.
Neil Young + Toby Keith (obvs).
Tom Petty + Kellie Pickler (the refugee).
Bob Dylan + Lily Allen.
Bruce Springsteen + ?

Acutally I think Def Leppard and Raskle Flats is that their name..? They were on the AMA singing a song that has bits of a newer Def Leppard tune in it. I think that could work.

I am a huge Def Leppard fan and I do love country too.
I could see Def Leppard paired with either Rascal Flatts , Tim McGraw and/or Faith Hill, or Malibu Storm.
They are all fans of Def Leppard.
Malibu Storm has already covered Photograph.
Rascal Flatts does Pour Some Sugar on me in concert.
Tim and Faith has actually showed up at their concert.
Also Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman shoed up at concert.
Anybody also knows that their is a conection with Shinia Twain because of her husband Mutt Lange being the producer of Def Leppard albums High-N-Dry, Pyromania and Hysteria (especially the last 2).

After seeing the episode of Crossroads all I can say is that it was an exceptional performance. Joss Stone and LeAnn Rimes deserve and Emmy for best duet
