Even Heartless Bastards Get the Blues

Posted by Steve Haruch on Tue, Jun 12, 2007 at 3:18 PM

According to one report, the Heartless Bastards show at Exit/In last week went off with a hitch: "There weren't a lot of people in the room, and the music hadn't fostered an out-of-control, rocking vibe. That said, the show hadn't been a terrible experience. Certainly not enough to warrant the lead singer walking off stage with tears in her eyes."

Apparently there was some backlash against the band afterward. Any Cream readers who were there?

Didn't even bother going as they no-showed the last two times they were billed - that even 20 people showed is shocking and then to pull an act like that - what a bunch of cr@p.

Me too, but I hung out with them up north one time and they were very humble, relaxed folks.
She seems pretty sensitive and it prolly wouldn't take much to set her off. And you know how the audiences in this town can be.

Whatever it was, it was real. I thought the show was great rock and roll.
