Cream Nashville Stops Talking

Just before the crack of noon today, blogger Brittney Gilbert tendered her resignation at Nashville Is Talking, citing burnout and thin skin. I'd love to take this opportunity to say how much I thought that site was just a circle jerk for local bloggers, and how Gilbert fired off as much vitriol as she took. (The Scene got plenty of it.) But damn if she didn't go ahead and point that out already. That deserves credit. Gilbert also mentions in her post that after much contemplation, she realized she didn't have what it takes to keep blogging through the bullshit, something I can't imagine any man in a similar position admitting. Well played, Gilbert—it sure takes balls to be a woman sometimes. Best of luck on the other side.
