Country Curator: Marty Stuart owns the largest (known) private collection of country music memorabilia, and now he's unveiling it.

Back in Black: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's latest finally lives up to the band's image.

Put a Spell on You: The Comas got a whole record out of singer and guitarist Andy Herod's fling with a Dawson Creek star. What now?

Classical Icon: Michael Daugherty composes love letters to pop culture icons.

The Spin: This week the Spin accomplishes something it never ocurred to us to try before now: we incorporated Ted Danson into a review. Meanwhile Girls & Boys played their last set, The Nobility made the name change official and Turbo Fruits got spaz-core.

Our pick of the week: Bobby Rush. (But we're going to remind you about the Moustache May celebration and Le Tigre DJ set later.)

I was writing that really late at night...hence the bizarre T.D. reference. There's no excuse for it, really. I'm just an idiot.

My girlfriend tried to get me to participate in Mustache May, but I can't do it. I mean, I can grow one, but I feel it's misleading since I'm not a pornstar, pederast, or policeman...

I saw Brenden Benson at the flea market on Saturday, and then found a super rare Feminine Complex 7". That was a rockin' day!

First BRMC album = little piece of heaven - especially the guitars on 'Awake'.

Everything since = meh.

I saw them open for Spiritualized a long time ago, and had high hopes for them ever since...but yeah, the first BRMC was awesome and everything since has been spotty at best. Haven't heard the new one, but if it follows the pattern then it's probably their worst yet.

The new BRMC is very good.

As much as I desperately want to trust someone called "Count Doo", I have heard the same thing about every record they've made. It's the emperor's new black clothes every time...

It's "not as good as their early stuff," in rock-dork talk, but it's quite good. Good enough to get me through entering approximately 10,000 writers nites into a slow and archaic database system. I say this as someone who did not care for Howl at all.
