Cream So May Sent Her

A giant venue with a non-corporate name—you knew it wouldn't last. The Nashville Arena is now The Sommet Center. The huh? It's apparently pronounced so-may. Aside from being home to the athletic strivings of our local Preds and Kats, the [insert shortened nickname here] will host John Mayer, The Fray and Kelly Clarkson this summer. (Cream sources tell us that +/- drummer Chris Deaner will percuss for Ms. Clarkson on that tour.)
Anyway, after whom has the center been named? Good question. According to the email sent to the Scene: "Sommet Group is an established, family-owned collection of companies that makes life better for businesses across the United States." Yay. And what are they doing for everyday folk? Well, they're bringing Sanjaya to Nashville.
