Signings

According to the Grand Palace website, Grand Palace Records has just signed Dr. Powerful from Sanford, NC. Here's what the GP site has to say:

Grand Palace is stoked to announce that Sanford, NC's Dr. Powerful have joined the GP roster. The good Dr. play energetic and angular rock, spazzy in a post-punk verging on math-rock vein that's befitting of a group featuring fromer Polvo drummer Eddie Watkins. Dr. Powerful cite influences such as "Cinemechanica, Wire, Devo, Pinback, the Soft Boys, Weird Al Yankovic, Brian Eno, and lots of other cool stuff", and we'd say that's pretty right on. The album was recorded with Jerry Kee, the engineer behind classic records by Superchunk, Portastic and Archers of Loaf.
